Dr. Sita Ram Kumhar born on 01-10-1965 at village, Bhagwatpura, Jobner, Jaipur. He has obtained his B. Sc. (Ag.) in 1990, M. Sc. (Ag.) Plant Breeding & Genetics in 1993 and Ph. D. (Plant Breeding & Genetics) degree in 2005 from Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner. He started his career as Assistant Professor in 1996 from ARS, Umedganj Kota, then promoted as Associated Professor in 2008 and Professor in 2011. He has worked on breeding work of soybean, linseed, pearl millet, isabgol and sesame and actively involved in development of varieties viz., RL 914 and Pratap Alsi-1 (RLU 6) of linseed, RI 1 of isabgol, RMA-4 and RMA-7 of Grain Amaranth, MBC 2 of pearl millet and RT 346, RT 351, RT 372 and RT 392 of sesame. He has published more than 50 research papers, booklets, popular articles and book chapters and he is the member of prestigious scientific societies in India like Life member of The Indian Society of Genetics & Plant Breeding, The Indian Society of Oilseeds Research, Sesame and Niger Workers Association (SANWA).

  He also served the University as Additional Director Research (Seeds) (19.10.2013 to 02.09.20219}, Zonal Director Research, ARS, Mandor (10.08.2016 to 17.02.2019 and 31.08.2019 to 04.09.2021), Director Research (31.08.2019 to 31.08.2021 and 13.09.2023 to 02.08.2024), Comptroller of AU, Jodhpur (01.01.2018 to 19.03.2018), Director Education (14.02.2019 to 05.05.2020 and 01.09.2021 to 11.07.2024), Dean & Faculty Chairman (01.09.2021 to 27.09.2023). He is also Professor Member of Board of Management of AU, Jodhpur for two years (07.10.2016 to 06.10.2018), Dean and Faculty Chairman Member of Board of Management of AU, Jodhpur for two years (14.09.2021 to 13.09.2023).

  Presently he is holding the post of Dean & Faculty Chairman from 03.8.2024.
