Specialization:Production of Bio-fertilizers anddevelopment ofBio-formulations based on plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria and mycorrhiza; Plant Microbial Interaction;Sustainable crop production through Intercropping, particularly under drought orhostile growth conditions; Biocontrol agent development.


My specific interest is development of a regenerative crop production system in drought  (e.g. by legume-millet intercropping) through holistic research methods, considering plant water and nutrient uptake via desert isolated soil microbes. This comprises plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria and mycorrhiza for drought mitigation and soil fertility restoration through optimizing above- and below-ground biotic and abiotic interactions.One special focus is in beneficial effects when intercropping long and shallow rooting plants, especially in mutual enhancement of water uptake and nutrient re-distribution under water limited growth conditions.
